My husband just accepted a job offer in Alabama, and there is so much I need to get done before we go. I have a ton of things to wrap up at work before my last day. I am really anxious about leaving my job since I have worked there for almost six years. I am going to miss all of my friends and my boss, and I am worried that I won’t find a job after the move. I know I shouldn’t worry since my husband’s new job can provide for us, but I can’t imagine being a stay at home mom. Aside from my personal stuff, I have to take care of all of the moving business. I still haven’t searched home security Alabama to see what alarm system we should get in our new house. I also need to make sure that all of our things come in as soon as possible. We don’t want to spend more than a few nights in a hotel waiting for the movers. That will be hard for the kids to handle.

Wow the Canvas Tent Shop would have come in handy at the last outdoor craft show I did! There was a down pour for about 10 minutes and not only did some of our items get wet, but I tried to hold up the flimsy tent top (no sides) with my hands and all the rain ran down my arm and I got soaked. Canvas tents are great for any outdoor activity including hunting and camping but also would be great to cover your arts and craft projects at a craft show.

My husband is one of those men that will wear a piece of clothing that he likes until it falls apart. I'm always having to switch out pieces of clothing in his wardrobe without asking him first or else I would almost be ashamed to walk around anywhere with him. But it's been a little tougher to get him to part with his favorite winter coat, so I thought it would be good to buy him one that I catch on clearance.

I went online to find a nice winter coat for my husband and while I was online doing that I ran across some www.satellitestarinternet.com/ that sounded really good, so I signed up for one of them for our household.

The winter coat that I found and decided to get for my husband is this black basic pea coat. I told him that it would match a whole lot of outfits, which made him warm up to the idea of a new coat a little more. Then once he wore it out, one of my friends told him that he looked nice in it, so I think he's sold on it now.

You can do a 12 month or 18 month calendar and it would make a great gift for a grandparent. It's amazing all the things you can do on the internet. My husband and I were doing some Christmas shopping online the other day when we came across really nice picture of a living room with an awesome design. The more we both looked at it, the more we started feeling like itÕs time for a change in our placeÑespecially in our den. WeÕve had the same set-up since we moved in 15 years ago, which is obviously too long not to mix things up! WeÕre thinking of getting all new window treatments, carpeting, wall paintÑthe works. The key, I think, will be finding the right color scheme, though. Either way, weÕre both excited for a change and think itÕll really bring life back into the place. And all of this was sparked kind of on a complete online shopping whim! OK, so I know that on the TV show Doctor Who, which is one of my favorites right now, the new Doctor has been on the show for a whole season now, but I'm still getting used to him being the Doctor instead of David Tennant. I think that it's because Tennant was the Doctor for so long and became so well loved. Well, I know that he was my favorite any way. I realized that he couldn't stay The Doctor forever and a showdown with some kind of weird aliens would force him to regenerate into a new body, but I just acted like it wasn't happening until it actually did.

I having nothing against the new actor show's playing the Doctor, the actor who plays him now it actually really good. When I was looking up stuff about him and found out that he's actually the youngest actor to play the doctor, I saw some info about a new wireless internet company and decided to click now to change over my internet service to it.

But, the new Doctor Who is doing a really good job on the show.

Tutorial - How to use Photo Masks

Here is a simple tutorial on how to use Photo Masks. This tutorial is done in Photoshop Elements 6.0, but could be adapted to work in your program I'm sure. I'm using a template from some of my Photo Masks below.

Step 1
Open your photo mask and photo.

Step 2
Drag your photo down into the tool bar onto your photo mask

Step 3
Click on the top photo layer and hit "Ctrl" and "G" at the same time.
This will make your photo take on the shape of the mask.

Step 4
Now you can adjust your photo to fit your mask.
Using the corners to make it larger or smaller until your satsified.

Step 5
Once your photo is where you want it to be,
highlight both top and bottom layers and right click on them.
Merge layers so you have one layer.

Now you can save it as a PNG file for later use, or just drag it to your scrapbook page!

Tutorial - How to make a sticker in Photoshop

I had a request LONG ago for a sticker tutorial and I actually had these screen shots made and saved. I decided to get it up on the blog since my computer is finally back! So here are TWO ways you can make a sticker. This tutorial was done in Photoshop Elements 6.0 but I'm sure you could adapt it to fit your program using similar steps.

OPTION 1

Open a new file
This tutorial is using a 12x12 background (or 3600 pixels x 3600 pixels)

Make two circles in different layers (using the color of your choice) and put them on
top of each other. Make the bottom slightly larger than the top.
Now you should have two layers of circles (or what ever shape you choose)

Using an paper or overlay (Overlay tutorial can be found HERE) place it on top of your
shapes. This will add some texture to the sticker and is optional.

Reduce the paper/overlay to the size of your choice and change the opacity of the
layer so you can see the circles/shapes behind them.
Opacity was set to 40% for this tutorial.

Now duplicate the paper/overlay layer and put one on top of each circle.

Click on the paper/overlay above one of the shapes and hit "Ctrl" and "G" at the
same time to make the top paper layer take on the shape of the shape of circle layer.

Repeat this for the other two layers.

Merge together the crumpled layer and the circle layer by highlighting
the two and right clicking. Repeat with the other layers.

Now merge both of those circle layers together so you have one circle layer.
DO NOT merge the background.

Use your polygonal tool to draw a flat line across the side of the circle and meet the other side.

Right click INSIDE the dotted line and click "Layer via cut".
This will give you two layers in your side bar.

You should have two layers

Select the small layer and use your mouse to rotate it around so it
looks like it is folded on top of the larger circle.
NOTE you may have to adjust it slightly so the flat parts lines on the circle correctly.

Now you can color the back of the sticker so it is plain (optional, you can leave it the way it is if you like that look). To do this use your eyedropper tool to match the "paint" with the sticker and follow the steps in the screen shot below.

Now your folded side should look like the back of a sticker.

Use your shadow tool to make a shadow under the folded edge.

Now you can add some text OR a graphic.
REMEMBER to put the text/graphic UNDER the folded layer edge to make it look real.
Now you can merge all the layers except the background.

Use your crop tool to get close to get close to the edges of the circle.

Delete your background.

Now you should have ONE layer left with no background.
File, Save As, name your file and select PNG file in the drop down box.

VOILA!!
The end result.

OPTION #2
For a basic sticker, put a large white stroke around your graphic/shape
by following the screen shots below.

I hope you all had a Happy New Year! For those of you who have been wondering where I have been, I'm still around! I had to get a job for a few months, which didn't work out too well and now I'm back at home! Still looking for a part time job though (yuck). Now I'm having computer problems and I'm updating this post on my hubby's computer. So until I get mine up and running (crossing fingers it's sometime this week/weekend!!!) I can't get to my files and scrapbook kits! I am thinking of loading my Photoshop on my desk top computer, but all my files I use to scrapbook are on my laptop so it may not be worth going through that. Anyway I plan on making some new kits soon!! I have a few planned, but I'm taking suggestions for kits as always! Printed some layouts!

I'm so excited that my printed pages of my layouts arrived! I've always made the kits, but believe it or not I've never have actually put them together in to layouts to print! Until lately... I've got this addiction and I love to put pages together. I had these printed out through Creative Memories (just click on the bottom where it says "Photo Center") and I'm so happy with them. I printed them in a Matte finish instead of glossy and they look awesome! Very happy with the quality. Order 10 at a time to get a better price on the pages.

I put a lot of items on my pages like glitter, staples, different fonts, diamonds, chrome items and other things to see how they would actually print out... and I've never been happier. I can't wait to order more! I have some layouts made from my "The Smell Of Autumn" kit that I can't wait to print next.

Take a peek! Sorry about the photo quality, I can't get a good pic of the pages behind the plastic without a glare or something! But you get the idea.

We'll I've decided to switch up my blog look for the season. I made a blogger ground out of my "The Smell of Autumn" kit that I recently released. Then I thought I'd better have a blogger ground for Halloween. So I thought I'd make that a freebie today!

Needing a password when extracting files??

I recently ran into this problem and wanted to pass it along. I may not be the only one who has had this problem. I've unzipped thousands and thousands of files and never ran across this problem until now. So you may run into it, if you haven't already.

I got a "password needed" when extracting a recent file and could not figure out why. This is because of a large path (or large names on a file), and instead of Extraction Wizard giving you an error, it asks for a password. So this link gives you a solution to get around it, but what I did was just rename my zip file to a smaller name, then unzipped it with my Extraction Wizard and it worked! Just something to pass along :)
